Early
Bird Discount

Save $25 per participant (skater) for all program registrations on or before September 15, 2025.  Discount applied automatically during checkout process. 

Multi-Session
Discount

Register your skater in the fall and winter session of Pre-CANSkate (save $20), CANSkate (save $20), Adult Learn to Skate (save $20) or Off Ice Conditioning (save $10) to earn a multi-session discount that will be automatically applied at checkout.

Skip the Credit Card

Credit card fees can be a killer for non-profits.  FSC charges an administrative fee (3%) on all registrations to cover credit card fees.  But if you choose to pay by cheque or e-transfer, we will pass along our savings and discount that fee.  The discount will automatically be applied when selecting one of these payment methods.

Volunteer at the Casino -
Earn Fee Credits

FSC will be operating an AGLC casino in Calgary over the holiday break this year.  Each shift that you work will earn you a $75 credit that can be applied against future FSC fees.  Details will follow.

Learn to Skate Programs (Pre-CANSkate, CANSkate & Adult/Teen Learn to Skate)

Pre-CANSkate (Ages 3-5)

Program Overview

The Pre-CanSkate program is designed for 3 to 5 year olds who have never skated before, or have very little skating background. 

This program focuses on teaching the kids basic movement on the ice without the use of movement aidsenabling them to stand and move with no assistance from the coaches and program assistants. 

The emphasis is to get the kids up and moving to prepare them for the CanSkate program.

Pre-CANSkate is 1/2 hour per week and skaters may skate for half the season – Fall Session or Winter Session – or the full skating season. This program is coached by a Skate Canada Professional Coach and trained Program Assistants. Learn more HERE.

CANSkate (Ages 5+)

Program Overview

The CanSkate program is an introductory learn-to-skate program designed for all kids, whether they wish to play hockey, ringette, speed skate, figure skate or skate just for fun. 

The new Skate Canada CanSkate program is based on Sport Canada’s long term athlete development principles which looks to provide kids with the basic skill development for their chosen path and promote fun, fitness and participation. 

The program focuses on balance, control and agility skills that are taught in six stages. 

CanSkate is one hour per week and skaters may skate for half the season – Fall Session or Winter Session – or the full skating season. This program is coached by a Skate Canada Professional Coach and trained Program Assistants. Learn more HERE.

Adult/Teen Learn to Skate (Ages 13+)

Program Overview

The Adult Skate program is designed for all adults, from individuals who have never been on skates before to those looking to increase their skating skills to the next level. Skaters in this program are welcome to come participate just for the physical activity or are able to take the Skate Canada standardized tests taken by skaters in the STARSkate program.

Adult Skate is run on dedicated weedend ice times and includes professional coaching.

Figure Skating Programs (Pre-STARSkate & STARSkate)

Pre-STARSkate (Ages 6+)

Program Overview

The Pre – StarSkate program is designed for skaters wanting to pursue the figure skating branch of skating. This is the bridge program between CanSkate and StarSkate. This program is the continuation of the CanSkate levels five and six and introduces beginning figure skating skills.

Pre – StarSkate is offered for two different levels in 2 1-hour long sessions per week. This program is coached by a Skate Canada Professional Coach.

STARSkate Test Level (Ages 7+)

Program Overview

The StarSkate program is for skaters wishing to continue in figure skating. This program continues to develop fundamental skating skills while training them to be able to take the standardized Skate Canada tests and compete in competitions.

Skaters will be trained in four disciplines: Freeskate, Interpretive, Skills and Ice Dance.

Test Level has various ice times Monday through Friday available for skaters to choose from. Ice time is purchased from the club and is coached privately though a contract arranged between the parent and skater and the Club’s Skate Canada Professional Coaches. Learn more HERE.

Important notes about your invoice

A 3% Administration Fee is added to all invoices.  Should you elect to pay by etransfer or by cheque this fee will automatically be discounted to zero at checkout. 

Volunteer bonds are added to all invoices (and will be reflected in the invoice 'Total', but will not be charged until the end of the season (April 1).  This bond will be removed from your account should you complete your volunteer commitment.  While you may see multiple volunteer bonds on your registration (if you have skaters in different skating programs) only the largest bond is applicable in line with our Family Volunteer Policy (displayed at checkout).  In short, if you complete (or make all efforts to complete) your volunteer commitment, this amount will not be charged.

Installment payments are selected by default.  The full balance of any fall programming plus any Skate Canada fees plus any Administrative fee is due at registration.  Any winter programming will be due on January 4 of the winter season (and will be automatically charged if paying by credit card).  Note that your installments may be uneven depending on your registration profile and how discounts are applied.
